THIS IS A NICE COMPACT LIGHT AND IT IS SUPER BRIGHT. I KEEP THIS ONE IN MY VEHICLE. THE A123 BATTERIES ARE EXPENSIVE AND NOT EASY TO COME BY BUT THEY HAVE A VERY LONG SHELF LIFE. THIS TORCH IS THERE FOR WHEN YOU NEED IT BUT NOT REALLY INTENDED AS A DAILY-USE LIGHT.

Scorpion Compact Lithium Powered Flashlight Uses two 3 Volt lithium batteries with a shelf life of nearly ten years (included). 4.9″ long and weighs only 4.4 oz. Features triple action tail cap switch; variable spot to flood focus; spare bulb included. Rubber-armed sleeve over aluminum body. One hour of continuous use run time. Up to 6,500 candle power.

Very bright light. Nice rubberized covering. This would be a great little light, but it sucks up battery life like it’s nothing. You’d be lucky to get an hour’s worth of use. Add to that, it gets really warm to the touch, almost hot, if used for longer than a couple of minutes. I don’t know if it’s the xenon bulb or just the way it’s put together, but the combination of heat and short battery life make this almost impractical to use. I prefer my Inova LED flashlights, the X5 and/or X03, both are great alternatives to this one, pricier but worth it.

I had my Scorpian 85001 for about 10 days before it stopped working… good batteries, good bulb, bad switch, tring to repair it and the bulb then fell into the front compartment behind the lenz?… good luck tring to get it out of there?… all and all a very disappointing situation, I need and use a reliable flashlite every working day, so I guess I’ll go back to my old reliable mini mag. $[...] bucks down the toilet…
