Ive had this for a bit 'now and for what it is … is wonderful .. no, its intention to drill 1 "steel plate in a few seconds .. if you want a huge mega-powerful, of course, this is not the drill for you .. but to work in small spaces, small hole drilling and shooting small screws this exercise is wonderful .. I came with a case that I felt so I delayed using lead in my hip pocket with no problems at all .. this driver lil haul around all daywork (HVAC business) and always does what I need .. yes its a 1 / 4 quick chuck .. it clearly said that (first line "Specification Tool" – "Hex shank 1 / 4" .. I guess if you can not say that watching the drill or read the writing on it then maybe you should not have to use power tools. . fourth toes are still expensive and annoying Makita (and other) make a 1 / 4 "adapter (homedepot Makita part number 763198 .. / amazon) which allows you to use" standard "bit .. yesthe addapter cost more but its worth the money ..

Neither Amazon nor Makita noted that this tool requires to function as hex shank drill bits. Neither Home Depot or Lowes or Ace near my house carry these bits and for good reason: no other instrument requires them. I can only get them from Amazon. I think not being explicit about the need for proprietary set of Makita drill is negligent at best and at worst misleading. I put this on my wish list and explaining the reasoning must now return to my sister who thoughtmakes me a favor. I'm not going to replace my collection of drill bits with carbide tip that I use for boat building and maintenance.

This is a drill-driver. It only works in a more user-friendly a mandrel old. The box clearly presented and describes the method of Quick-Change 1 / 4 "hex-shank bits accept. Lucky me, I bought mine at Ace Hardware on Black Friday for $ 80 + tax. It 'came with a plastic storage box, a nice canvas holster, and a painting of 65 pc accessory kit for every bit you could want, including drills bit hex. bit kit 'The cloth accessory fits well in the case of long storage of plasticwith drill holster and charger. It 'very light and compact (ideal for tight spots). Plenty of power. It has a nice LED light that illuminates very well, and stays on for about 15 seconds after release of trigger: Bump the trigger to turn it on, use the light to find your job within 15 seconds (or hit again), and begin drilling or driving. Warrranty even has a 1-year on battery and three-year warranty on the rest. Mine came with one battery, butrecharge fast enough (less than an hour).
