I would say that I have a mouse fettiche. My favorite mouse of all time was the Logitech Wingman PS-2 gaming mouse. The ony drawback to that mouse was the lack of a thumb-buitton and scroll wheel, but for it’s time it was awesome. Logitech has not come close to that degree of mousing perfection since…that is until the G9x. I did not have the G9 so I can not compare them. The last mouse I had was the G5, and there is no comparison. First let me start with what is good about the mouse, since there is so very little that is bad. br /br /The Good:br /Ergonomics – the ergonomics are about as close to perfect as you could imagine. Just like the Wingman Gaming Mouse, it is more of a wedge shape which just seems to fit the hand perfectly. Ergonomics are only enhanced by the multiple enclosures which have a very pleasing texture and non-slip grip. This is a new feature not seen in any mouse before and I think it is now a must-have.br /br /Weight – As with many prior mice, you can fine tune the weight and there is a good selection of weights. With the heaviest load it has excellent heft.br /br /Cord – Nice, long, thin, braided fabric-wrapped cord does not interefere with mouse tracking.br /br /Buttons – The buttons have a perfect action and solid detents. The thumb buttons are positioned just right for a standard (non-claw) grip. The scroll wheel has a very solid feel and smooth action.br /br /Ashetics – Very handsome, selectable light colors are a plus.br /br /Features – Scroll wheel can be changed from click-type to smooth-scrolling. Selectable tracking speed is very well implemented. Saveable game profiles with onboard memory is a nice feature if you do LAN parties. I wouldn’t use this, but nice to have anyway.br /br /Tracking – smooth and precise, as you would expect from any modern mouse. br /br /So what is bad? Well for one thing it broke in the first week I had it. I know things break, and I would not dock a star for that alone but this is an auspicious start for an otherwise outstanding mouse. More importantly is that I think they left some important features out. With your hand resting on the mouse, your 4th and 5th fingers just hang off the side…doing nothing. Why not have a third button toward the right side to increase functionality? If I were designing my perfect mouse, that feature would be there. Other than that I have to say that this thing is pretty close to perfect. Hard to not recommend it for any PC gamer. Even my wife loves the way it feels and she doesn’t game at all. Buy it – you won’t be disappointed.

Design Flaws – GODJOEY –
Out of the box I instantly noticed 2 things I did not like. #1 the wheel click is so slight you may have to click it more than once to realize you depressed it. #2 the mouse wire is VERY low to the mousepad to the point that i have no doubt over time it will wear down you will need a mouse anchor or something to keep the wire up and away from the surface. I haven’t even tested it yet but those 2 things make me wanna send it back. These to me are design issues. I’ll try it tonight just so I can give a more in depth review… As much as this already killed it for me. I was sold by “PROFESSIONAL REVIEWERS” VINE PROGRAM people who got their mice for free. These people have no idea about gaming mice and I feel stupid I should have read 14 of the 30 reviews were GIVEN THIS MOUSE…br /br /The overal design is very nice I’ll add more tonight. Been using mx518 for years now and I figured maybe it was time to buy into the hype instantly I see issues I don’t like much.br /br /As for 14 of the 4 and 5 star reviews on here… THESE ARE AMAZON VINE PROGRAM people who got the product FREE… I’m sorry I didn’t read what that meant before hand. Tells me 1 of 2 things you were just happy getting a 0 item free and or you have no idea about gaming mice. Thanks Amazon… Give them books not hardware stuff like this it’s impossible for them not to be biased…

Middle mouse button, I hate you – Warren Wang –
I really wanted to like this mouse. I’ve been using it for a while now, and I can’t take it anymore. The middle mouse button is so hard to press that it makes my hand hurt. I actually broke out the kitchen scale to test the buttons. The 2 main buttons take less than 2 ounces to activate. By comparison, the middle mouse button takes over 1 lbs! I use the button all the time to open tabs while I’m browsing.br /br /I’ve seen other folks complain about this, but I didn’t think it could be this bad. It’s to the point where I’m sending it back to Logitech. They are being kind enough to let me swap it for a G500. I know it’s a hit in value, but it’s worth it if it makes my hand stop hurting. I was hoping it would loosen up after some use, but it is not.br /br /Also, I have mixed feelings about the braided cable. It’s mounted so low that it may drag across the corner of your mouse pad, and create some awful feedback sensation through the mouse. I prefer smooth cables for peripherals.

Wow, what a fantastic mouse.br /This mouse is actually more than I bargained for and has proved to bebr /a real winner while playing online games. Its range of customizationbr /is fantastic. from the programmable buttons, to the multiple userbr /settings, to the weights you can insert for the perfect feel. I reallybr /like the different textured coverings it comes with. Really, this mousebr /is an A+, best mouse on the market for gaming. The WoW mouse for playingbr /WoW is junk if you ask me, this G9x blows it away.
